But even Seaver was astonished when the team gathered in St. Petersburg in February for spring training and one man knew they were going to win the World Series. Considering this team was mostly about pitching, it made sense who the one man was. "In spring training Jerry Grote knew," Seaver said. "He said we were going to win it.
